Watch This Nissan Patrol Annihilate A Porsche 918 Driven By Richard Hammond
For the series finale of The Grand Tour, Richard Hammond drag raced a seemingly ordinary Nissan Patrol in Dubai. I think you can see where this is going....
Sorry for dropping a massive spoiler in the headline, but I’m sure 99.99 per cent of you would have guessed straight away where this video was going. That ‘ordinary’ Nissan Patrol has Hoosier drag slicks, for Pete’s sake.
Sure enough, in the series finale of The Grand Tour, it had no trouble making a Porsche 918 Spyder look very silly on a closed section of motorway in Dubai. That’s because those slick-shod wheels are powered by a Nissan GT-R V6, with the nuts tuned off it to kick out a frankly silly 1900bhp. Oh, and it’s apparently owned by someone from the Dubai royal family…

Rule of thumb in drag racing: The ordinary cars are faster then exotics
What the Nissan was thinking when Hammond said it would be easy.
I think we all knew how this one was going to end… I just wasn’t expecting it to stroll away like that.
That is the ALTIMAte machine. It must drink a lot of PATROL. This car is one to take NOTES of
Still not as scary and shocking as this one.
Agreed. A Transit van with an XJ220’s V6?! Madness. Especially when you consider the fact that when originally placed in a 6R4, it revved to 9000 RPM.
The kids will never ever be late for school
EVER!
Am I the only one that hates races like these? Obviously a purpose built drag car is going to be faster in a straight line than a super car, no matter what “shell” it’s wearing
“SHUT UP!”
what’s with hammond’s hand?
Maybe his thumb is a SORE loser
