Watch A Porsche 919 Merge With A Mission E In Photoshop To Make A '2020 911 GT1'

Using the newly updated 919 racing car as a base and adding elements of the Mission E photoshop, Jan Peisert created an amazing vision of how a road-going 911 GT1 successor might look

The updated version of Porsche’s massively successful 919 Hybrid car was revealed last week, ready to make WEC domination look jolly easy in the 2017 season. And also to make all other racing car headlights look really, really small. But what if a road-going version existed?

Jan Peisert - whose work we’ve featured before - imagined just that, creating a stunning render and calling it the ‘2020 911 GT1’, invoking memories of the car of the same name from the 90s. As a reminder, the original 911 GT1 spawned a very limited number of Straßenversion (or street version) cars to satisfy homologation rules. On the track, the hugely successful racing version managed to bag the outright win at the 1998 24 Hours of Le Mans after beating various LMP1-class machines.

For this homage, Peisert can be seen using the refreshed 919 as a base, incorporating various elements from the stunning Mission E concept in the fascinating timelapse video above.

What do you think of the results?

God, that makes me want this to actually be real, or a least like a concept car :-)
