The three man crew of this Dakar rally monster miraculously escaped with only minor cuts and bruises, after hitting an inadequately-signposted hazard.

The above video shows the moment the El Martillo Racing car was catapulted into the sky after hitting a water crossing. According to the team’s Facebook page, the hazard was marked with a ‘Danger 2’ sign, so the crew expected to skim across a small stream. Instead, the water hid a five-foot ditch, which acted like a ramp when hit at 108mph and caused the incredible end-over-end accident above.

Spectators who were already dealing with another car, which had seemingly been caught out in a similar way, rushed to the team’s aid as the wrecked vehicle burst into flames.

Canadian driver Matt Campbell was hospitalised after the crash, but suffered no major injuries.
