Watch The Terrifying Moment A Dump Truck Smashed Through A House

Dashcam footage shows the moment a truck is T-boned by a driver running a stop sign, sending the rig hurtling towards a house

This horrifying accident happened near Angier, North Carolina earlier this month when a driver ran a stop sign, slamming into the side of a dump truck. The impact sent the truck on a collision course with a house at the side of the road, demolishing much of the property in the process.

The driver of the truck - 71-year-old Tony Spainhour - was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, while his two dogs - also onboard - both survived the crash.

The driver who hit the truck - Willie R. Woodard - has been charged for ignoring a stop sign plus driving without a license and with fake license plates.

Well having two dogs in a truck hardly ends well, so no surprise

What kind of car and how fast do you need to be going in order to send a multi-ton truck off course like that? Though, once it’s off course, I can tell you from experience that there’s nothing the dump truck driver could have done.

How fast indeed. I couldn’t find the car on either side street in the video…

A 95 Ford Taurus hit him in the right side drive wheels. No one said how fast the Taurus was going but I assume at least 55MPH that’s the speed limit on both of those roads. A road construction crew witnessed the whole thing you can see them in the video just as the truck was passing the intersection. It happened about 20 miles north of my house.

How does one dump truck proof their house? It seems like it may be well worth the investment

Don’t build it near a main road?
