Several classic F1 cars sustained damage over the weekend as they took to the track for the Historic Grand Prix of Monaco

This article is not for the faint-hearted. The above video shows footage of Jim Clark's classic Lotus 49 F1 car (which he won in five times) crashing during a practice session for this year's Historic Grand Prix of Monaco.

The event, which is organised every two years, took place last weekend and saw a whole array of iconic cars take to the legendary street circuit. The Lotus, with Chris MacAllister at the wheel, wasn't the only machine to sustain damage.

A Ferrari 312B - once driven by Jacky Ickx - and a March 721G collided on the main straight, while a Token RJ02 found the wall at the final corner. Hopefully all the cars can be repaired and returned to the track soon.
