Wheelspin Wednesday: Acura's Brutal Burnout Gone Wrong

Front-wheel drive and a heavy right foot are all this Acura needs to get super smokey

Welcome back to Wheelspin Wednesday, the home of spinning wheels and burnt rubber. Last week's truck burnout will be tough to beat, but we think we've got a decent contender.

So far, so standard burnout. So far, so standard burnout.

This is an Acura EL, a re-badged Civic with a ton of extra features. We can't be sure, but burnout-monster probably wasn't what Acura's Canadian arm was intending. With a few aftermarket modifications, however, this EL makes a very good case for itself.

Okay this is getting a bit more impressive. Okay this is getting a bit more impressive.

The front-wheel drive saloon pumps out plumes of white smoke, before changing up a gear. At this point, the smoke billows, completely obscuring the car from view.

Visibility is seriously reduced, as is breathable air. Visibility is seriously reduced, as is breathable air.

The crowd might be loving it, but the tyres aren't. Eventually all that melting rubber and heat set fire to the wheel arch, resulting in a spectacular finale.

Kill it with fire! Kill it with fire!

If you've seen a better burnout, drop it in the comments section. We'll feature the best ones.
