Why You Should Document Your Car's History In An Online Archive
No matter what shape or size, engine displacement or number of driven wheels, one thing’s for certain: we all love the car we drive for one reason or another. What’s also obvious is that you like to treat your cars with respect; engine swaps, vinyl wraps, new wheels and simple tune-ups are commonplace, as are maintenance checks, car cleaning and everything in between.
When you make these changes, clean your interior or even take your car to a garage for a new set of tyres, brakes or an MOT, it’s always good to keep a record of the event; future owners will love to see an extensive history with images, receipts and pics of work carried out from start to finish. A fully comprehensive record can increase the value of your car by 26 per cent.
Which is where Patina comes in. Patina is a platform for digital vehicle history and is a quick and easy way to have everything in one place. As well as being able to upload evidence of work done - or if you just want to do a photo dump of a recent road trip - Patina eliminates the need to keep a bunch of papers, pictures and receipts in various envelopes and folders. Video uploads are also supported, so you can show off your dyno runs and track day footages.
Like adding your car onto the Car Throttle Garage, uploading your ride into Patina is dead simple. You add your vehicle with a bunch of pics and write as many details as you want (the more the better).
You can also sell your car on Patina and be sure in the knowledge that any potential buyer will be serious, not a tyre kicker; he or she will already know everything about your car from the get-go, after all. If you want, the record can even be transferred to the new owner.
One of the best things about Patina, is that it comes with an iOS app (Android version coming soon), which lets you update your car history straight from your phone, without having to scan documents and import pictures to your computer.
Once you’ve created the free profile, you can connect with other users, check out what they own and see the work they’ve done; there are some epic restoration projects on the site and a lot of information from the Patina community.
