Wildcat Automotive - the makers of the eponymous space-framed off-roader formerly produced by Bowler - decided to sling an LS3 V8 into the engine bay of a 110 Defender, and the results look to be sensational.

The 6.2-litre unit - which is mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox - is good for 430bhp and 398lb ft of torque. If you’re a bit mad and want more than that, Wildcat is willing to up that figure to 550bhp. Should do nicely…

The interior gets four leather-trimmed bucket seats, plus all the original clocks; thanks to some jiggery pokery with the vehicle management system, the GM V8 works with the stock dials.
