Would You Choose The Rugged New Seat Leon X-Perience Over A Standard ST?
Estate cars with off-road pretensions are nothing new, just look at the Audi A4 Allroad and Volvo XC70. Now though, Seat wants in on the action, and has given its pretty Leon ST a crossover makeover.
Just like other off-roading estates, the Leon X-Perience has the ride jacked up (by 15mm in this case), and has chunky grey plastic cladding at the bottom of the bumpers, sills, and around the wheel arches. It has a Haldex four-wheel drive system, and two electronic differential locks, should you be serious about venturing onto the rough stuff.
Under the bonnet, you have the choice of three engines. There’s a 1.8-litre petrol with 178bhp and 206lb ft of torque, a 2.0-litre diesel which manages 181bhp and a punchy 280lb ft, and a 1.6-litre diesel which manages a decent 148bhp and 236lb ft.
It’ll go on sale in the UK this September, but the question is, would you be tempted by one over the standard ST? Get voting!
