WTCC champion Rob Huff said he is "lucky to be alive" after he was involved in a head-on crash that wrecked his orange Chevrolet Camaro.

Huff was driving on London Road, Cambridge, when a BMW in the opposite lane suddenly slowed down behind a broken down Peugeot 206. A motorist driving a Golf behind the BMW failed to see the stationary vehicles and ploughed into both the BMW and Peugeot. The impact then launched the cars straight into the path of Huff's front-end, leaving the Camaro in this smashed state.

Emergency services had to cut two people free from the wreckage, but Huff escaped unscathed. He then competed at Brands Hatch over the weekend, despite tweeting that he had been shaken by the incident.

Huff's Camaro - which he purchased after winning last season's World Touring Car Championship - was not so lucky and is now in scrap-heap heaven. RIP.
