You Can Cut Your Ford Fiesta ST's 0-60 By Half A Second With An App
The Ford Fiesta ST does not need any more power or torque. Its 197bhp, 214lb ft 1.5-litre inline-three is extremely punchy in the mid-range and feels like a good step up from the already quick previous-gen ST.
But hey, a little more poke couldn’t hurt, right? That’s certainly what renowned Ford fettler Mountune thinks, and its response is the m225 tuning pack.
It contains the usual freer-flowing induction kit and a natty little Mountune badge, but the difference between this and previous packages from the firm is the new ‘Smartflash’ smartphone app.
It’s available for Android and Apple devices, and it connects to your ST via a Bluetooth OBD II reader. Once you’re installed and ready to go, you can choose between three modes: Performance, Stock, and Anti-Theft.
Anti-Theft does what it says on the tin - it’s an immobiliser mode. And Stock, as you’d expect, returns the car to factory settings. Performance is where it gets interesting: for starters, selecting this mode ups the power by 25bhp and the torque by 36lb ft, giving new figures of 222bhp and 250lb ft.
In addition, it makes the active exhaust louder in Sport and Track modes, plus it makes the launch control system “more aggressive,” Mountune says. As a result of this along with the boost in power and torque, the m225 pack drops the 0-60mph time from 6.5sec to just under six seconds.
The reinvigorated 1.5 inline-three should feel noticeably punchier on the move, too. In Performance mode, a whole second is lopped off the factory 31-62mph in-gear acceleration figure.
Want your own Fiesta ST to perform thusly? The full kit will set you back £662.50, or if you already have a high-flow induction kit, the app and OBD II reader can be bought for £479.16.

wait, anti theft mode is just an immobiliser? Don’t all cars have that already or is there something I’m missing here?
It might not let the car start unless the phone is plugged in maybe. Its another level of protection because people panic about the hands free keys
It’s in addition to the immobiliser every car already has (the steering wheel lock). Once you used your phone to put the car in anti-theft mode it won’t start until you disable it again on your phone. That way no one can steal your car if they don’t have your phone, but in turn you also can’t start your car if you lose your phone or simply forget it.
Thats a weird way of tuning a car
It’s sound like a lot of cash to pay but in reality with everything your getting it’s a bargain
Well it’s mountune which is covered by ford’s warranty up to stage 2 so it’s always expensive. The exhaust kit is cheap though considering it’s actually made by miltek.
Can I fit that into my 2018 Fiesta Titanium? Pls?
ST only
ah CarThrottle, you never cease to amaze.

Not saying this is not unprofessional, it is, but if you’ve ever done content writing as a day job, you’ll know that these errors creep in very, very easily. Unfortunately, calling the writers out seems to be the only (or at least the most effective) way of fixing the errors/making them better writers. Point is, don’t mock them, make it pleasant..
Just my two cents, thanks.
I can make my car better with a screwdriver and a 1/2 wrench.
Modern problems require modern solutions
It’s an app that plays curated Eurobeat on full blast, and even triggers a mechanism that makes your legs and feet heel-toe through every downshift.
Eurobeat is terrible but ok
I get paid over $115 per hour working from home with 2 kids at home. I never thought I’d be able to do it but my best friend earns over $10k a month doing this and she convinced me to try. The potential with this is endless. Heres what I’ve been doing….

Anti-Theft mode sounds great until your phone battery dies and you can’t drive home
