You Could Buy Prince Harry’s Exceptionally-Specced Audi RS6 For Not Much
Celebrity connections to used cars can be an interesting footnote and something to mention at the pub, but rarely do they serve as a genuine reason to buy a car or pay a premium for it. This Audi RS6 could be an exception and surprisingly, the price seems fair.
You see, this C7 RS6 was bought new in 2017 by Prince Harry, and he didn’t skimp out on the spec. This Daytona Grey example has about £11,000 worth of options, including RS sport suspension plus and the removal of the speed limiter, bringing the car to a reported £91,530. Arguably, it’s the best use a royal has made of their vast, taxpayer-injected wealth.
Apparently, Harry only drove around 4,500 miles in his 15 months of ownership, but the six-year-old C7 has been appropriately used since, now totalling 68,000 miles. With 553bhp on tap from its twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8, we’d find it hard to keep the miles off it too regardless of any royal connection. Without the speed limiter, it can go on to 174mph, having covered 0-62mph in sub-four seconds.
At £42,000, it seems this C7 isn’t commanding an insane premium over similar examples for sale either, which range from around £35-45,000ish. That could make this a bargain of the century. It even had a set of fresh Pirelli P Zeros fitted just 500 miles ago.
It’s fair to say Harry isn’t quite as popular as his mum, but a Ford Escort RS Turbo Series 1 once owned by Princess Diana sold for £650,000 last year. It’s worth mentioning you can pick a tidy example of one of those up for around £30,000…
