You’ll Be Able To Follow The Build Of The First Road-Legal Koenigsegg Agera RS Online
Hot off the heels of its middle finger to the Holy Trinty, Koenigsegg has announced the first Agera RS is being built for a customer in the United States of America. It might not seem like it, but that’s a pretty big deal.
You see, America makes it really rather difficult for niche manufacturers to homologate cars for its market. The process is long, expensive and complex - and it needs to be completely repeated for each new model - which is why many European supercars from smaller manufacturers don’t make it across the pond. Koenigsegg, however, has decided to commit to making its cars available to US customers.
What’s even more exciting, is that the customer receiving the car has given the Swedish manufacturer permission to cover the build on its blog, from start to finish. That means we’ll get to find out why they’ve chosen the options they have, and get an up close and personal look at this glorious vehicle getting put together.
You can read the first blog about Build #128, as it is known, here.

Why hasn’t it been road legal before? Full carbon fiber body or what is it that makes it non road legal?
Safety features and emissions mainly. In special occasions the US will let those slide but only after heavy fines to the manufacture.
The CCXR is legal in the US. Not sure about the rest of them though
I will own a koenigsegg one day.
Ferrari had to recall 458 Italia in usa to mount a trunk opener from inside of the trunk.I wonder why…
