YouTube's Maddest Inventor Made An Actual Working Hoverbike
Colin Furze - the brilliantly unhinged man behind projects such as a 70mph mobility scooter and a jet-powered go-kart - has made a real, working hoverbike. Probably not that safe, but damn, does it look fun...
Here’s what happened when we caught up with Furze to talk about his mad 70mph mobility scooter.

Probably a longer flight than the Wright Brothers’ first flight.
The future is here! xD
10/10 would daily this
Uh-oh, Top Gear will try to make a rendition of this and then drive it on a canal…
not sure if im the only one who realises just how incredible this is….he has with a fraction of the budget of big companies built something far quicker, simpler and better than these massive companies. Plus its actually pretty balanced in flight. once i get the tools and skills i really want to build one
Well, considering a helicopter has significantly more power, payload and range, there’s a reason they’re complex and expensive. It also looks like this little bike can’t get out of ground effect, which is probably good from a safety standpoint, but not really for a practicality standpoint.
That said, it works and is really neat, but difficult to control and probably won’t be taking over the world anytime soon.
Can Alex fit in the boot?
since he would end up in small pieces I’d guess yes :P
This dude come from the same town as me. Representing!
It doesn’t actually work though, does it? Yes it hovers…but it is almost uncontrollable
Ok now lets list the rules that he broke about safety in the UK. . .
It. Does not look like it really works by itself
