124 Wheels Were Stolen At A Chevrolet Dealer In One Brazen Hit
Staff at a car dealership in Slidell, Louisiana received a nasty shock when returning to work, finding a sizeable portion of stock sitting on wooden blocks minus their wheels.
In total, two thieves came away with 124 wheels and tyres from Matt Bowers Chevrolet, amounting to around $120,000 of swag, Slidell Police says.
The suspects spent several hours in the dead of night removing wheels from 31 vehicles including Tahoes, Malibus, Colorado pick-ups and more, with the stolen rims loaded onto a small U-Haul truck and driven away.
Only a jack and a bunch of wooden blocks were left behind. The pair even fiddled with the exterior lights for the car park, allowing them to work undiscovered in the dark.
The Police investigation has already turned up two other “similar thefts” in Texas and Oklahoma. It’s thought the duo behind the Slidell theft aren’t locals.
Dealer owner Matt Bower is offering a $25,000 reward for anyone providing a tip that leads to an arrest and conviction of the suspects.

Suspects were said to be wearing full fire suits and helmets. Though the wheels were gone reports say all the cars had a full tank of fuel, which has left authorities clawing for answers.
