5 Cars that you may have never new existed

Some cars get forgotten, others only available in forgin countries, and others are just so rare that you probably never new they existed. It’s those cars that I am going to tell you about today.
So lets get to it.

Nihon Auto Sandal Jidōsha

We start with a car that had no power steering, 2 seats and manually controlled windscreen wipers.
The Nihon Auto Sandal Jidōsha. It was a hand built Japanese car that was produced from 1947 to 1954 and only 196 were made. It came with a 350cc air cooled one cylinder engine that only produced 5hp. That tiny little engine was mounted in the rear and powered the rear wheels.
Only three still exist today.

Amphicar Model 770

Is it a boat? Is it a car? No, its the Amphicar! This cool cabriolet was built from 1961 to 1968. It had a 1.1L straight 4 from the Triumph Herald, that produced 43hp, (later models had up to 75hp) and a 4 speed manual gearbox.
Ok, so nothing very interesting here, but it’s out at sea where things get more interesting, because this rear engined rear wheel drive cabriolet could also drive on water! It had two propellers mounted underneath the rear bumper that would bring the car up to speeds of up to 7 knots and as long as it was well maintained, it could be parked at at dock for a few days.
Who else wants one? I know I do!

Savage Rivale Roadyacht GTS

The Roadyacht GTS was built by a dutch company called Savage Rivale and it is the worlds first 4 door folding hardtop supercar. It was first revealed as a concept in 2008, and went into production in 2011. The Roadyacht is based on a corvette and is powered by a supercharged LS7 which makes 670HP. It only took it 3.4 seconds to get to 60 and it will eventually top out at 205 MPH.
Only 20 were made.
A GTR version was made and had somewhere between 700-800 horsepower and could do 0-60 mph in just 2.8 seconds.
To be honest, I think this thing looks pretty good. I’m a bit iffy on the doors though. What are your thoughts?

Carbon Motors E7

The E7 was designed to be a purpose built police car and was supposed to go in production in 2012, but sadly, Carbon motors closed down in 2013 because of financial issues.
The E7 was powered by a BMW inline 6 turbo diesel paired with a six speed automatic gearbox and have a 6.5 second 0-60 time.
It was to come equipped with all the equipment an officer will ever need as well as being able to withstand a 75 mile an hour rear end collision and have the option of having ballistic protection panels to protect the officers inside.
Imagine seeing one of these creep up in your rear view mirror! looks very aggressive.

Daihatsu Leeza Spider Turbo

The little Leeza was a kei car built from 1986 to 1993. From 1990 on wards, the kei car regulations changed and the maximum displacement went up to 660cc and 63 hp. After this change in regulations Daihatsu gave the updated leeza a 659cc inline 3 that only produced 50hp. (turbo models were available)
A few months later they made a 2 seater convertible version, the Leeza Spider.
It may look like they just got a hatchback and chopped the roof off, but they did a little more than that because the spider only came with the turbocharged engine and this boosted the hp figure to the maximum allowed of 63 hp and it only weighed 640kg!
Just pure wind in your hair fun!

How many of these cars did you already know about?
Or did you know them all before reading this?
Le’me know in the comments!

p.s If you’re getting some dejavu, then you’d be right. I made this 3 months ago. It is pretty much the same but with some small changes and I also added one more car.

Thanks for reading! (^-^)

Actually, I recognize only two of those cars.
The Rivale due to Asphalt 8, and the E7 due to NFS: Hot Pursuit 2010.
