Fun fact about Bayside Blue
Did you know that most Bayside Blue Skylines came off the production line with a black chassis?
The exterior panels were painted blue while most engine bays are black with a bit of overspray around the edges.

That’s a pretty cool fact.
Any idea why?
I suspect it’s a tougher paint coat in the engine bay - my gloss white, and my mate’s pearlescent white are both matte in the bay. It could be something to do with blue only being offered metallic.
2000 or 2001 onwards do have painted bay(not sure when it changed)
I noticed there was a V-Spec II with a blue engine bay but it doesn’t look right.
Do you know why they’re black?
