Wide body supercars. A rant
So widebodies. First thing to point out is that I’m not totally against body kits in general. They can really enhance the look of a car especially JDM . Nor do I think that they ruin supercar’s looks. Granted then do sometimes maybe ruin some cars like the Honda NSX but most look ok.
The real problem is functionality. People not using supercars like they should be which is on the track isn’t a rarity. Seeing a Ferrari or Lambo on a track day is a miracle to see cars like that being raced but most of the time these cars are in the hands of non car enthusiasts who probably don’t even know the power output of their car. Now Bodykits absolutely ruin the chance of these high performance cars being raced ever. They just sit at car shows. These beautiful vehicles with some pretty cool body kits but never will they race or be driven properly like they should. It’s a shame to see cars to go to waste because of owners. “When was the last time you saw an Arabian race their car?” Probably never. However I’m not against JDM bodykits. These look pretty good and cars with them actually are raced and drifted. In fact I believe some old Japanese race cars used RB kits as they made them more aerodynamic.
Generally the people who like widebody supercars are probably 10-14 and would refer to these cars as “that’s so sick” these are also the people who hate hondas and call them rice. Let me just remind you that RICE stands for Race inspired cosmetic enhancements. So on those old Japanese race cars bodykits aren’t riced. But on these Supercars they are. They are widebody kits inspired by racing cars e.g Nissan GT-R and are no more than cosmetic enhancements. Especially those big wangs and skirts. Thank you for reading! Please let me know what you think about widebody cars!

You make it sound like the only “right way” to use a super car is on the track
Their cars, let them do whatever the heck they want… even driving like a grandma with that sweet looking widebody.
My gripe with this gen widebodies is that they look the same. Same fender, same lip or big wang its just not interesting anymore.
I’m just saying it’s a waste. Also a lot of these cars are being hidden away in garages for no one to see. Jay Kay mentions this in the Top gear Lambo special
So? Who cares? Not me. You can’t force people to like what you want, because YOU aren’t the king or whatever. Also, get some better quality pictures, they hurt my eyes.
Some people just really don’t get the definition of rant do they
Its his opinion, you can disagree with it but you cant get him to change his opinion
Technically rice is not a bad thing because since it is Race Inspired Cosmetic Enhancement technically it is ricing but then is ricing with a purpose such as a wing with extra down force but most of the time it is just a style thing
A wider track makes the car better at corner and significantly improves handling. Why is this a bad thing?
And If you have a problem with rich people and how they treat their cars, why don’t you work hard and buy a Ferrari?
Idk why It’s so annoying that people on the internet sitting at homes with the car their parent’s gave them comment about how other people live with their cars.
Just let people do what they want with their cars. Plus these rich people buying cars allows these companies to spend more on R&D and make these cars better , and the domino effect means the technology will trickle down to cheaper cars .
I don’t have any cars now and won’b be buying one for another 10 years or so (So I’m not one of these rich people, in case you were wondering)
Because these cars will never be driven properly
Wider track width does not necessarily make the car handle better, and certainly not in this case. These cars have absolutely no suspension travel at all, stupid amounts of camber and way too much offset at the front wheels. This does not contribute to the performance in a good way.
I personally like bodykits like Liberty walk, but when it come to the… Rocket bunny, thats a different story. Somebody might say they are the same thing, but personally I think the Rocket bunny is Liberty walks mainstream brother, because of people like tj hunt who put them on 350z:s, brz:s and 240sx:s, that complitely ruin them (im my opinion). I like the looks of Liberty walk Ferraris and Lamborghinis, and yes, it is kinda wrong to make supercars just sit in a car show, but I would personally much more like to have a Liberty walk Aventador than a normal one, because I think LB looks just so much better.
I know a lot of people dislike them, but I’m glad they exist. I’m glad there are still people out there in the car community pushing boundaries when it comes to cosmetics. Love them or hate them you have to respect tge impact they’ve had on our community. And any car with a bodykit can be tracked if you don’t slam it to the floor on bags like a moron.
@ “RICE stands for Race inspired cosmetic enhancements”. ACTUALLY it doesn’t. It stands from the term “Riceburner”, but who am I to judge, the internet is 100% sure that all Skylines are called “Godzilla” these days, education on motorsport and motoring history is close to being vague and meme filled in the world.
It does. Maybe that’s just another term but most people will define RICE as delicious food or Race inspired cosmetic enhancements . Guaranteed no on else knows what a riceburner is
Uhhh that NSX is nice (and don’t say because I’m 12).
I sort of agree, while a super car does not need to be used to on a track only, I do find RB kits rather silly
