My girlfriend is considering a 147 GTA for her next car. Are there any problems to look out for when searching for a good example?

There was a problem with the bonnet catch not working when it gets grease on it and the water pumps also sometimes die on you if you’re unlucky. Clutches also wear out at around 70k miles. Telltale signs of a clutch thats nearly had it are a really heavy clutch pedal.

Thanks for the advice. I would love one, but reliability has always been a problem for Alfa. We’ll see…

Make sure all the cam belts have been done prior to you buying one. They can be very expensive to replace

Reliability is fine on the GTA, you just have to look for a example that was not owned by a moron, but proper lover that had cared for it. Waterpumps are changed with a version with a metal propeller instead of the one i plastic. Look in the engine bay. With corrosion all over the place, you know that the car was not loved. :-)

GTA is actually a very good Alfa for someone who wants power but also style. I personally own a 147GTA and it’s amazing. I’d recommend getting one
