#GoliathChallenge Winners!

Sorry for the wait, but here are the results for the Goliath Challenge! To recap, the competition was for the fastest lap of the Goliath Circuit in Forza Horizon 3 using a car with PI C600 or lower. There were four amazing entries - well done to all those who took part.

4th place: Adam Karim’s Jaguar XK120 (14:24.833)

This British lightweight was tuned up to 382 horsepower without an engine swap. It isn’t as powerful as some of the other cars in this challenge, but it has decent handling and is relatively lightweight.

3rd place: Ivo Heintze-Kobic’s Datsun 510 (14:24.798)

At just 35 milliseconds (!) faster than the Jag, we have this Datsun. The Japanese classic was given a 2-litre VVT engine bumped up to over 350 kW (that’s nearly 500 horsepower). Given that it weighs just 807 kilograms, you can imagine how much of a rocket it is.

2nd place: My Mazda Cosmo (13:01.885)

This classic rotary-engined Mazda was given a rather fitting engine swap: the 2.6-litre 4-rotor R26B from the insane 787B race car which won Le Mans in 1991. With 690 horsepower, all-wheel-drive and a light kerb weight, it has a better power-to-weight ratio than a Koenigsegg Agera S! Handling wasn’t the best, but it made up for it on the straights, reaching speeds of 200mph.

THE WINNER: Steven Farquhar’s Opel Kadett (12:52.377)

This all-wheel-drive monster packs a 3.2-litre turbocharged inline-6 with 608 horsepower. It’s another lightweight, coming in at 891kg. Lateral grip was only 0.7 Gs, but with this much power, who cares? It beat my Mazda by just over nine seconds, taking the victory.
