Figure Eight Racing Could Be The Most Dangerous Motorsport In America
As if standard stock car racing wasn't dangerous enough, these guys have taken it a step further with a truly breathtaking spectacle
Any motorsport can produce some intense on-track action, but Figure Eight racing takes things one giant step further. All the cars start together on one corner of the track, but as the race unfolds, the intersection of the figure eight turns into a gauntlet as the faster cars cross the track at the same time as the slower cars.
Reinforced with extra-strong roll cages designed for side impacts, the cars resemble normal stock cars but with the capability to withstand T-bones at any point during the race. And to think F1 is worried about cockpit halos…
Here is an example of a race from 2011, culminating in a huge smash just a few laps into the action.

Don’t spend extra on roll cages. Just have them race in Volvos!
But then a black hole will form when to of them collide breaking the space time continuum
And maybe give them a Nokia phone - for savety calls
There is one requirement to enter these races however.
Lol! Took me way too long to get where you were going…
I was expecting to see a lot of crashes in this video… I’m disappointed :(
Yeah I think he is right. It’s so much more exciting than nascar, why isn’t this popular?
Too much corners for average american spectator to keep up?
Other parts of the world: dangerous deadly motor sport
America: Wednesday
There’s always a way to ratchet up the crazy. Look up School Bus Figure 8 videos. Gotta love this country
When NASCAR just isn’t redneck enough…..
Nascar isn’t redneck at all….
Can you add the Car Throttle App for Windows 10?
Yeah, but is America really the only country that does this?
Am I the only one that thinks that this is stupid?
Yeah maybe put a big a** jump in the middle and watch cars collide in mid air. That would be awesome
It’s stupid alright. But it’s also f cking great
No, you’re not, but they’re americans…
If they were Volvos racing wouldnt that be like the unstopable force vs the immovable object. That I think would put the world at risk of a black hole
