Jaguar Land Rover Is Auctioning Over 100 Classics With No Reserve
It’s not uncommon to hear of a private car collection being auctioned piecemeal, allowing other collectors to add that one missing piece to their own heritage jigsaws, but an auction in March is going to be extra special because the cars are coming from Jaguar Land Rover’s own Classic collection.
Yup, Jaguar Land Rover Classic is auctioning over 100 ‘affordable classics’ from its fascinating collection, and all will be offered with no reserve. As the outfit begins to streamline and up-spec its heritage fleet, many of the old machines made by other brands, which have been collecting dust for decades, are heading for new homes.
The largely British array covers Austin, Ford, Morris, Rover and Triumph models, as well as the odd Reliant and Vauxhall. There’s not a single Jaguar or Land Rover to be seen. Outside of UK brands there are old Citroen CXs, a Polski Fiat 125P, three Ford Zodiac estates and much more.
The sale is taking place at Bicester Heritage on 21 March. Among the rare and low-mileage highlights is a Vauxhall 2300 HS Chevette, a Rover Metro Turbo and a very rare 1993 Mercedes 320CE manual. The one-of-a-kind Reliant Scimitar prototype fitted with Ferguson four-wheel drive is up for grabs, too.
Matthew Parkin, head of the chosen auctioneer Brightwells Classic Cars, said:
“We are absolutely delighted to have been asked by Jaguar Land Rover Classic to auction off of part of its significant Classic Collection.
“Focusing solely on non-Jaguar Land Rover products, the diversity of the lots on offer is extraordinary, offering everything from a Riva-style speedboat to the unique Scimitar Ferguson prototype – all at no reserve. It’s safe to say it’s going to be a lot of fun!”
A selection of pedal cars, boats, caravans and large-scale model aeroplanes are also going to be sold on the day.
You can view all the lots on offer - with no reserve, remember - here.

No reserve mean no minimum price?
Yeah
Yup
Yup, that means a car could go for ten bucks!
Probably won’t but ya never know
Guys let’s buy one together. All that comment below agree to chime in a 100 bucks with me.
(Disclaimer : responses are legally binding. Trust me I’ll do what I must to get to my new Jaguar Land Rover)
so you get a car, and we lose 100 pounds?
nice plan dude
Hope whoever buys the Lada does the right thing and crushes it. What a terrible car.
Why not make it better?
Why crush it? It’s a piece of history. The Lada was a highly sought after car in communist countries and there are still many enthusiasts keeping them alive.
Why is it that even normal “boring” everyday cars 50 years ago don’t look boring at all whereas similar cars nowadays basically all look like this ;(
Crash safety dictates much of modern car desgin.
To be fair, a Vectra B is a rare sight on the roads nowadays.
am i the only one who likes the design of that generation vectra?
i’ll just leave this here
I’m sorry but it would seem 96 of thse are toy pedal cars… and only 57 are actual cars.
ssssh
Classics don’t escape from fake badges…
(Goggomobil T Sedan; didn’t know that even existed)
What a knob end…
Mmm . . . Those V8 Rovers look quite tasty
That Chevette is tempting.
MG Maestro Turbo*
Reliant Scimitar? Princess Anne had one of those, you know.😉
