The Japan Classic Sunday in Gemert, Netherlands

The Japan Classic Sunday in Gemert is a meeting for japanese classics and japanese sports cars in the Netherlands. This year was my first time at the JCS and it was absolutely incredible. The meeting is quite small compared to the yearly highlights like the Japfest, but you’ll find alot true enthusiasts that love to show their passion for these cars.

Alot Toyota Celica GT’s were found at the meeting, a car I’ve never seen before at other JDM meetings in the Netherlands, which are mostly covered by Supras, Skylines, Subarus and Evos. These older cars really catched my attention because of their nice curves and great road presence.
Even though they have some similarities to american musclecars in terms of their design are they alot smaller.

Another personal favourite was the Nissan 280z Fairlady. With its long bonnet and the short back is it a truly beautiful machine. This example was equipped with a set of ‘Watanabe’ wheels which fit the car perfectly.

But it doesn’t end there. Since the meet wasn’t just for performance cars, you could find anything you can imagine. This is a Daihatsu Hijet that was completely rebuild. It has VW Golf Mk 1 front lights, a wooden custom platform and is painted in a VW T1 green.

On the other hand could you spot oldschool cars like this Nissan Patrol or the Toyota Crown you can see below.

When you think McLaren invented new doors on the 720S, watch this space.
And of course we can’t imagine a japanese classics event without the infamous Toyota AE86.
