Watch this quick-thinking Porsche owner evading a carjack

A footage shot in May earlier shows a Porsche owner narrowly escaping a carjacking attempt in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Carjacking has long been a crime in South Africa, and this footage caught at the owner’s home gates at his neighborhood shows the harrowing episode.

The video footage begins with the house owner arriving at the home gates in his Porsche 911, and a silver BMW, with two carjackers, arrive and move ahead to pull over.

As the Porsche moves forward to enter the house, the BMW reverses with the front passenger door open, attempting to block the Porsche. One of the men jumps out, appearing to be holding a gun, dashes to the car. Perhaps already sensing something wasn’t right, the driver immediately reverses just as the man points the gun at him, at the same time making contact with his front at the BMW’s rear, damaging the latter car’s rear bumper.

Possibly frantic, the gunman could do nothing but watch as the Porsche flees away from the scene before returning into his accomplice’s car and turning away to the opposite direction, with their carjacking attempts foiled.
