Dent On Disc Brake

I noticed the following, ‘dent’ on one of my disc brakes which got me somewhat paranoid.

Googling around didn’t yield any results so I was wondering if anyone could give an idea as to how that may have happened and whether or not it’s something to be worried about. Do note that these discs have been fitted around 3 weeks ago only.

Thanks in advance.

When you brake does it wobble or make a noise?

Not really, atleast not something that really rings my ear let’s put it that way.

There weren’t any occasions or sudden braking either

Shouldn’t be a problem because its not on the side you brake on…

Rocks. Rocks flying up in the wheel arch.

Makes no difference really, a pebble will have done it.

From what I’ve seen on both sets of discs I’ve replaced in recent history (Tarox JapanSports and OEM B7 RS7 rears) there is a manufactured “dent” on the disc. As everyone else has mentioned unless the ding is compromising performance I wouldn’t worry.

Splendid

I did something kinda like this when I dropped my truck off the jack lol
As long as you don’t hear any noise, It fine.

On the top it shouldn’t really be a problem. Its just where the pads touch that I could see a problem with. But hey as long as it works then its good right?

Thanks for all the comments everyone. For now I’ll leave it as it is and keep an eye out for any weird noises :-)
