After pininfarina made his magic, the IKA Torino was born, a pretty saloon that without knowing would become a legend.
Powered by a 3L in-line 6 from AMC-Renault partnership, making just 122hp the torino 300 was a sales success inmediatly.

From there the Torino’s success just kept growing, then it came the Torino 380W, upgrading it’s engine to a 3.7L in-line 6 ‘Tornado’, the ‘W’ was a reference to the 3 webber carburators it had. This was the beginning of the Torino in the racing world.

Torinos even made it to the nurbugring 84hs endurance race using race versions of the Torino 380W, losing only because of a penalty but winning in quantity of laps… here are the cars that made that achievement.

The car had such a good impact on people that fans began to make their one special editions, some of this also became icons in argentina’s culture.

The Torino became one of the most iconic cars ever in Argentina. It’s life in the Argentine touring championship ‘TC’ and ‘TC2000’ keeps going even today…
