Why Is Hot Wheels So Bad With Decal Placement?
Hello CTzens!
I’m sure all of you who collect Hot Wheels cars have stumbled upon a few, if not a lot of cars with poorly placed decals and lights.
It takes away from the look of the car. A manufacturer badge off its raised section, headlights and taillights that are poorly aligned with their gaps. These can all be very frustrating.
I strongly believe that Hot Wheels should do something about this. Maybe rectify their decal applying system. I understand that these cars are rather cheap at 1USD per piece but these cars are often ruined by these shortcomings.
Do all of you have this problem? Could it be something with the factory in which it was made. I live in India and thus most of my cars are made in Malaysia.
Thank You
P.S. Sorry for wasting your time with this rant.

Yes, its more with the recent cars. I think they, just like any business, dont really put the effort into them any more, cause they will make millions cause little kids dont care about decal placement.
Most of my cars have bad placement as well, but for some reason, I have a Golf that is almost perfect with the decals, as well as the most detailed HotWheels car I have.
Is it a blue widebody golf?
My 007 Esprit has asymmetrical decal placements too. It’s not as severe as the ones in the pic, but it bugs me from time to time.
Some bloke named himself “LamleyGroup” has been gone through this and, in fact, the BMW M4 actually has a variant where the taillights tampos are done right.
Truly, my exact model of the 350Z is really grinds my gears.
It could also be because they cost a dollar….
I agree. However, they used to be of better quality a few years ago
maybe they’re become lazy and didn’t do anymore details like the plastic spoiler, detailed spare tyres, fuctioning parts and sometimes the body is ruined like my Mazda RX-7 HW :(
I know because i’m a Malaysian, where the hot wheels produced
I usually get lucky with them but there are some of them really grind my gears
