Gran Turismo PSP Sport Kei car race results!
Yesterday I raced a bunch of sporty kei cars around Suzuka Circuit West Course to see which was the fastest Kei car!
The rules and stuff
All cars were:
•On S1 tires
•Default tune
•Driven as hard and as best as I possibly could, and I did lots of laps until I could no longer beat my fastest time for that car.
•Professional physics
•Manual transmission and no assists.
•Driven on the same course on the same day
•Game was running on my PSVita PCH-1003
The cars I drove were:
•Mazda Autozam AZ-1 1992
•Honda Beat 1991
•Honda Beat Version Z 1993
•Daihatsu Copen Active top 2002
•Daihatsu Copen Detachable top 2002
•Alto Works Suzuki Sport Limited 1997
•Suzuki Cappuccino (EA21R) 1995
(I was also going to drive the EA11R as well, but I couldn’t buy/find one as the dealership is randomised every 2 in-game days)
•Daihatsu Cuore TR-XX Avanzato R (J) 1997
8th Place Mazda Autozam AZ-1 1992
1'57.298
To be honest, I was expecting the AZ-1 to be a lot faster, but for some reason I just couldn’t get it to go any faster.
The AZ-1 felt very light and it is surprisingly easy to get the back end loose.
7th Place Alto Works Suzuki Sport Limited 1997
1'55.760
The Alto was very stable and had plenty of traction, however it did feel a bit top heavy compared to the other cars.
6th Place Daihatsu Cuore TR-XX Avanzato R (J) 1997
1'53.630
The TR-XX is FF compared to the all wheel drive Alto. Because of this the TR-XX felt lighter and a little bit more agile in tight corners and was able to beat the Alto.
5th Place Honda Beat Version Z 1993
1'53.510
Although the Beat is lacking in torque, it still felt fast and agile. It also felt more stable compared with the AZ-1.
I was still expecting the Beat to be one of the slowest, so this was a nice surprise :)
4th Place Honda Beat 1991
1'53.265
This Beat felt pretty much identical to the Version Z and it got a very similar lap time.
I was kinda expecting the Version Z to be faster or at least feel somewhat different, but it didn’t. The lap times are really close so you could say it is a margin of driver error.
3rd Place Suzuki Cappuccino (EA21R) 1995
1'52.727
The Cappuccino felt quick, and was well balanced. It almost reminds me of a mini MX-5, but somehow it wasn’t the fastest.
2nd Place Daihatsu Copen Active top 2002
1'51.807
The Copen felt very very stable and had the most torque out of all of the others. It was the first few corners where the Copen was able to accelerate out of them and just inch ahead of the Cappuccino.
1st Place Daihatsu Copen Detachable top 2002
1'50.997
The Detachable top Copen felt lighter then the active top and the less weight helped it accelerate a little quicker and corner faster, making this the fastest kei car in the game! (out of the 8 tested)
P.S Before anyone says “I made the Copen win because I own one irl”, after the Copen won, I then went back into the Cappuccino and raced against the Copen ghost car. I did manage to shave of a couple of milliseconds off, but it wasn’t enough to beat the Copen. I probably did the most laps in the Cappuccino too.
Maybe I am just better at driving FF cars?
Or maybe the Copen is just the faster car?
Either way, I kept everything as fair as I could.
P.P.S If anyone has GT PSP, I’d like to see you beat any of the above lap times in the same car, with the same settings on the same track. I wanna know if I’m actually any good at this game :P

BenPaye(JDMSquad)(MX5Squad)(LFAsquad)(SubieSquad) Remember when I said I played Gran Turismo as a kid? Well…. It’s this one
How did u run it on PSvita
The psvita is backwards compatible with digital versions of psp and psone games.
Just go to the psn store on the vita and there is a huge list of psp and ps one games for download. You can also go to your purchase history, to download previously purchased psp or psone games, as long as you are signed into the same account that bought those games.
this makes me want to go and find my old PSP now, think i had GT on it
This game is why I still have a psp.
The autozam az1 instruction manual girl is a top tier waifu
