Robby Gordon Hit A Spectator At Last Weekend's Baja 500
Footage has emerged of the moment Gordon hit a spectator as he attempted a pass during the Baja 500
While battling for the lead of last weekend’s Baja 500, Robby Gordon was attempting a pass when he struck a spectator. A number of people were lining the route, but one guy appears to misjudge Gordon’s trajectory. As the Chevrolet trophy truck bears down on the group, they make a run for safety, but unfortunately Gordon clips one man, sending him crashing into the sand.
Motor Trend says that there are no official reports of injuries, however it is rumoured the man suffered a broken leg.
This is just further evidence of the dangers of off road racing. It’s this danger that makes it so exciting, however spectators have a responsibility to keep themselves safe. Standing so close to the track is just asking for trouble.
