The only advantage is for BMW as they save money on it. Strange as the car has M-sport interior, shadowline and aluminium trim, but still not folding rear seats. It’s really annoying, because i could have used it many times
Non folding seats chassis has better rigidity. There are beams across the back of the rear seat / front of the luggage compartment. If you option for the folding seats, the frame with hinges and locking mechanism has to be installed instead of that beam cross.
