My 10 worst handling cars in #RR3

Earlier I made a post about my 10 best-handling cars in Real Racing 3. This time we’ll look at the other end of the spectrum at the worst handlers. This is just my opinion and is not entirely based on the lateral-G figure in the game - it also takes into account how easy the car is to control past the limit and the speed of the car (slow cars can get away with having little grip, but fast cars with poor grip feel terrible). Once again, this only counts cars I own or have driven in special events, and note that since I drive with Tilt B and no assists, my experience may be different to yours.

10 - Ariel Atom V8

The Atom V8 (aka Atom 500) is an insanely quick car, and probably the first PR 80+ car you’ll encounter in your career. It’s not too pricey to fully-upgrade, and it has its own exclusive series. However, it’s quite a handful - while its grip stat is OK, it isn’t enough to cope with the ridiculous acceleration, and if you lose the rear, you have little hope of regaining control.

9 - Lexus LFA

The Lexus LFA has received plenty of praise in real-life, but in the game, it has poor grip and a serious tendency to slide. What makes it worse is that this is a career bottleneck in the Elite series - in order to progress, you must complete this car’s showcase which involves buying and upgrading the car.

8 - Ferrari Enzo Ferrari

The high-tech Enzo was the first mid-engined exclusive flagship from Ferrari to use active aero and a paddle-shift gearbox, but it handles so poorly that Enzo himself is turning in his grave faster than this car can turn on the track! Its tendency to slide just makes it worse.

7 - Lamborghini Countach

This car isn’t terribly fast, but it’s got more than enough power to make it drive like a pig. The handling is way worse than the older Miura, and it isn’t much quicker either.

6 - Ferrari 812 Superfast

Having won this from the recent event, I can say that it has extremely poor grip for its speed. It has a serious tendency to slide given the slightest provocation. This is slightly reduced with tyre and suspension upgrades, but it’s still awful. The event was also notoriously difficult - I managed with upgrades at 3333333, but some people struggled even with it fully-upgraded.

5 - Ferrari F14 T

The F14 T was rather underwhelming in real-life, with Ferrari finishing only 4th in the 2014 WCC. At high speeds, the grip is incredible, but it’s a total mess in slow corners where there isn’t enough downforce. It feels like it’s on ice! And if you overshoot the mark at any speed, even by just a little, you’ll be chucked into the wall in no time.

4 - Hennessey Venom GT

I must admit I have only driven this car in a Flashback event, and I gave up after the first few races because the car was such a handful. Other similar cars (such as the Koenigsegg Agera, Agera R and One:1) feel far more planted on the track. This car does have a saving grace though - it is often the car of choice for Top Speed team events thanks to its 290mph top speed when fully-upgraded and insane acceleration at high speeds.

3 - Lotus Type 125

The Lotus Type 125 was a single-seat racecar sold to customers, somewhat like McLaren’s P1 GTR and Ferrari’s FXX K. However, this one boasted performance compareable to a GP2 car. Unfortunately, it suffers from pathetic grip at low speeds in the game, and I find the handling very weird, even compared to the F1 cars.

2 - Ferrari 412 T2

The last V12 powered F1 car may be a 17,000 RPM legend, but in RR3, it has every problem the F14 T has, but exaggerated. This car came up in the Time Trials recently, and the gap between me and the world #1 on Nurburgring GP was about 10 seconds (admittedly my car had rather few upgrades). Yet I was still in the top 10% for that track (group C). That just shows how hard this car is to master.

1 - McLaren MP4/4

This car may have been the most dominant in F1 history, but it suffers from all the usual F1 problems but even more so than the 412 T2. Its grip stat is lower than the other F1s at just 2.25Gs, and since this is a downforce car, at low speeds it will probably be one quarter of that. I only drove this car in its special event (around the new year), and I gave up because (1) it was an absolute mess to drive, (2) I’d just dumped 2,000 gold in the sales and (3) I was at a very important Olympiad maths training camp and I just didn’t have time to bash away at an average-speed challenge 20 times.

Please comment if you agree or want to throw in your own suggestions for cars. Also, if you have any suggestions for a top 10 list I could do, then please say so!

At high speeds they’re fine, but at low speeds they’re a total mess.

It is really bad at low speeds but that’s logical with the downforce that is created so it is logical imo but i don’t know about you

I haven’t driven it, but most Lambos handle pretty poorly. I think only the Centennario, Miura and Huracan Super Trofeo are good.

That LFA bottleneck technique is a great money making idea. Someone might not have enough $ in game so they want to rush through.
