This Bugatti Veyron Sounds Like A Jet Fighter As It Cuts Through The Air At 235mph On A Public Road
The action at this year's Sun Valley Road Rally didn't disappoint, with this one-off Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse L'Or Rouge hitting 235.7mph on the event's closed road course
Yes, believe it or not, this is all very legal. Every year, part of Idaho’s Highway 75 is closed off, allowing entrants of the Sun Valley Road Rally to pelt their cars down a normally public road at whatever speed they like. They best part? It’s for a good cause, with the event’s proceeds going to The Drug Coalition, an organisation dedicated to raising awareness of substance abuse, addiction and recovery for the youth.
While we’ll happily doff our caps to this 235mph effort from ‘Hellbug’, last year a Veyron went even faster, with a Super Sport Pur Blanc (another one-off) clocking an incredible 246mph, no doubt helped by the car being set to ‘top speed mode’ with the rear wing retracted.
