1991 Nissan 240SX SE Fastback

I’ll have to expand on this more later, but my Dad bought this car in 1992. I grew up riding in this car as a child, learned to drive stick on this car and Dad gave it to me around 2002. I started autocrossing it that year, began drifting in 2003 and have continued tuning and driving it ever since. These days it is primarily a streetable drift car and has a vanilla V8 swap that makes it reliable and fun to drive in any situation. I have so much history with this car, it’s like my spirit animal of cars and driving. Not the S13 in general, but this specific one.

Also, I’ve managed to keep it in relatively decent shape for many years of drifting…hopefully that trend continues :)

Nice. Sweet rims. Any future mods planned?

Thank you! The rims are by Atara Racing and are a 17x9 0 offset in 5x114.3. You may have noticed but I’m running gold on one side and bronze on the other, a nod to the old HKS S15 from…maybe 2004 or 2005-ish.

Off season plans include a cage to let me run at bigger events and venues that have more strict regulations (I don’t think I could even drive Road Atlanta right now for example) and more mods for better tandem…probably GKTech FLCAs for more steering angle, better seating position and harness belt so I can focus even more on driving. Also a tow rig…I’ve been street driving to events all these years.

Thanks! If you want to see it in action, as well as the grassroots drift scene in the midwest USA check out my YouTube channel! I’m shooting for new vids weekly :)

What V8s in it? LS?

Hey Raregliscor1! The donor car was a 2002 Chevy Camaro, so this has the cathedral-port original LS1 from one of the last years it was produced. Engine-wise it’s a minimalist build and just a “driver’s car”. I have Sikky headers to snake around the steering shaft, and aside from a custom 4-2-1 stainless single exhaust, the engine is basically stock w/stock computer. It makes about 308hp / 309tq and 115,000 miles on it by now.

When I first saw that picture I was like “no way that’s your car”, but then I saw the other pics and the video haha
Beautiful car man!

Thanks so much! Its been a labor of love to build over the past 15 years, but the real purpose is having fun driving. Unfortunately it doesn’t look quite as nice anymore: damaged FRP on cone/plastic barrier scrapes. Nothing bad, but the paint is scratched on the back fenders…will touch up during the off-season!

Delightful Citizen (Classic Truck Squad)

I really dig this car as well as what it’s about. A fun street/track toy that can do a wide variety of events and still be reliable (and a V8, too). My next build will be aiming for this kind of fun!

Thank you! This build—always a WIP—took a long time (it predates social media, even MySpace lol) Especially in the initial years when I was in school and had minimal income, but the end goal of maximum driving enjoyment was always there! Keeping it simple, reliable and versatile makes for a car you’ll always want to take for a drive! :)

I just wanted to thank everyone for the love, thoughtful questions and comments! I document my car stuff on YT/IG/FB but after the response from this first post, I’m really excited to hang with everyone here on CarThrottle!

BTW I’d like to add a Q&A segment to my (usually) weekly YouTube vids so if you have any questions for me when it comes to drifting, driving techniques, tuning, or getting into this hobby (or suggestions)…anything really, hit me up! Much love!

Thanks for the comment!
I’m pretty happy with my Atara Racing KMZ14s, but I’ve always loved the TE37s and 38s, too. I;ll pick up a set in the future if finances pan out!

TE’s and mesh wheels are my favorites, with my current setup more on the mesh side. I’m going for a “future retro” look, blending oldskool flavor with some new twists. No idea if it works for anybody other than me, but it’s fun haha :)
