Test Drive Unlimited 3 Prediction and wishlist #blogpost
For those who didn’t know. Test Drive Unlimited is making a comeback. Test Drive Unlimited 3 isn’t going to be made by Atari because of Atari’s money problems, but a company has bought the rights to the game and all it’s assets such as the models in the first two games. Here is my prediction and wishlist for the new game.
I think that the new game will have the original two island from Test Drive Unlimited 2, but there might be another one. This will most likely be another island just to keep the game consistent. I have no clue where Test Drive Unlimited 3 will be set, but I do have a place in mind where I would like it to be set. Windhoek in Namibia.
The reason why I think Test Drive Unlimited 3 should be set in Namibia’s capital city is because there’s a city, straight(ish) roads, dirt roads and a sort of flat desert area and amazing views. The list of good reasons are almost endless. Another place that I would like to see in the new game is London, because the game does need a big city to keep up with the crew and Forza Horizon 3, although by the time Test Drive Unlimited 3 comes out, those games will be quite old.
I think that Test Drive Unlimited 3 will probably have over 500 cars, because in the time since Test Drive Unlimited 2 came out, theres been 3 Forza Horizons and The crew, and those games were as successful as they were because Test Drive Unlimited was the game that introduced players to an open world game like that. Once Test Drive Unlimited 3 comes out, fans of Forza Horizon and the The Crew will also play Test Drive Unlimited 3 as well. Therefore the company making the new game will just pay to get the licenses for cars.
I would like to see a huge range of cars in Test Drive Unlimited 2 from city cars like the Toyota Aygo and the Citroen C1, Hot hatchs like the Ford Focus RS and I would also Like to see more SUVs such as the Land Rover Range Rover L405, Sport SVR and Defender 110.
A lot of people didn’t like the upgrading in Test drive unlimited 2, so I think the the company that bought the rights to the game will learn from Atari and Eden games’s mistakes and Include more detailed tuning options like the one in the Forza Horizon series. I think this will draw the attention of players who want to do more complex car builds.
I’m going to end this post with the video that inspired my to write it.

I want to see more visual customization. Great article
That and moar japanese cars
Thanks. The visual customization in TDU2 wasn’t the best, but it was something and all they need to do is add more decals.
All I want is better physics. Handling was more than awful in TDU2. Probably the only thing I didn’t like about it.
Big Ben Interactive (the company that bought the right to TDU) made WRC 5 FIA World Rally Championship, so They might use the physics engine from that.
Just make it tdu1 with more customization and done
I never got to play the games, but when the new one does come out, I will definitely be buying it.
Ive had both TDU TDU2 and the 2 were great games but suffered from lack of cars and car companies, customization and modification options and worst of all not so good handling and response characteristics, especially with a force feedbsck wheel. I think, one big detailed Island like Hawai but with much more details, more things to do, improved physics and a wider range of accurately designed vehicles would make a better game than adding locations and essentially moving away from the core of the game, DRIVING. Been waiting for years for a new TD…
If this has cross-platform multiplayer and more customisation, they will be printing money
Having multiple islands is pointless because most of it was just roads surrounded by endless trees.
It would be better to have a single island with a more varied environment and it would keep the entire lobby in one place
Another thing, since Big Ben Entertainment is handling this I highly doubt that TDU3 will be good considering their budget is probably smaller.
Yeah they make the wrc games and theyre not the best.. but they might pile all their money into tdu3. We can only hope.
I also want more visual customization, and that variety of cars is exactly what i want
I personally think the Isle of Man would be a fitting location
I didn’t even think of that.
You sir are very right indeed :)
Would love to see small classic race cars, like the Abarth 100TCR, the Works Rally Cooper and the Lotus Cortina. Classics are the greatest in open world, especially because of the challenging handling.
