G35 good for track day?

Hey guys, Ive been looking G35s and want to know if its a good/acceptable car to take out to the track. I plan on doing it once or twice a month (most like once a month).

Ive also been thinking Ik buying a e30 and making it into a track/road car but I am not sure how much it cost to make them look in good condition I.e. clean, no rips or tears, healthy engine etc.

Is there any car that you would recommend? Needs to have 4 seats I.e. coupe.

G35 coupe: Yes.
I have a 350Z, same car different body on top. They do really good at autocross and track. Especially with a good set of sticky tires. I would suggest having a separate set for the track if you decide to buy extremely sticky tires. Race tires don’t last long if you daily them. If you need a double duty tire I would get a decent summer tire.

The car easily handles track and daily though. I track about twice a month and daily my 350Z. Mine is a 2006 model with the Revup motor. I keep my car well maintained, always checking the oil when I do go to the track.

For the G35 specifically, I would only consider 05-07 coupes. These have the revup motors but more importantly the updated transmission. 03-04 six speeds were notorious for losing the third gear synchro. It wasn’t a matter of if it will happen, but when it will happen. No escaping it. Some early years with the Revup motor had oil consumption issues. Keep an eye out, ask the sellers etc. If you end up with one with the oil consumption issue make sure you are adamant about checking your oil level. Otherwise the Revup motor is pretty solid. Nissan strengthened up the motor so it could handle more revs and it made a bit more power.

Let me know if you have questions. They really are great double duty cars.
