Dream Car(s): Nissan Laurel.
To begin, yes I did previously mention that I would sell and import a Nissan Laurel Club S Type X Turbo.
But this is different - let me explain.
The above car is a Club S Type X Laurel non-turbo. That’s right - a car without a turbo. But why?
The car below is also a non-turbo. This one is a Laurel 25 Medalist Four - the cheapest one on the Goo.
Notice how it looks much less sportier than the Club S. This one has an asking price of only $1,500 while the Club S has a price of $3500.
Get two cars for the price of one, plus shipping on top.
The plan is to swap the exterior panels between thw two cars to make the cheaper one look sporty.
But it doesn’t end there - the cheaper one has a grandpa-spec cloth interior that is just a plain eyesore.
The plan is to swap the cheaper interior of the Medalist with the leather and woodgrain trim of the Club S.
Just look at those cup-holders.
Alright, so for a cost of $5,000 you get two naturally aspirated, automatic, luxury barges.
Why do you want to swap them over?
It’s simple, really.
The reason is because the Club S, or any turbo Laurel for that matter, never came as a 4-wheel-drive.
And that’s where this comes into play.
The Nissan Stagea was the only vehicle that came with the 4WD RB25DET from factory - because of drift culture, thet rear-wheel drive RB25DET has increased in price while the 4WD has remained relatively cheap - it is common for wannabe drifters to buy a cheaper 25DET 4WD and swap over the sump from the RWD.
So there we have it.
This is basically getting a daily driver and a weekend 4WD turbo for the price of my car.
Comments
That’s actually pretty smart.
Agreed
That’s pretty sweet
Smart.
I’m surprised that no-one has said “don’t bother with the interior, use the $ on a bucket seat and GT-R gearbox” which is another thing to consider.
I’d get it just for those cupholders
I wonder what those slots next to it are.
