The apex isn’t the inside of the corner, the apex is the point at which the vehicle is closest to the inside of the track. For example, the inner rumble strips aren’t the apex of the corner, the point at which you either are closest to them/touch them/get closest to the surface on the other side of the strips is the apex. The shortest way around the corner is simply the inside and the longest way around is simply the outside.

The fastest way is not the inside, it’s the racing line. The inside line will usually be faster than the outside going 2 abreast, but not always.

When entering a corner using the racing line, if you are lined up on the opposite side of the track like you’re supposed to be, where you turn in is called the “turn in” point. Pretty easy. The point you naturally float to when exotic a corner properly is called the “track out” point. Besides that who cares?
