IS200 cambelts...
When I bought my 83k mile IS200 the dealer mentioned that in the car’s (very limited) records there was no mention of a cambelt replacement.
Many sources on the internet claim that for the IS200, cambelts must be replaced every 60k miles or 6 years. My car is 15 years old and 83k miles (!)
So I was wondering: is this service interval accurate? How can I tell if my belt is worn? What is the urgency for getting it replaced?
I’m extremely tight ATM but as most people I would rather pay a little to avoid paying a lot.
I will take a look in the morning under the bonnet. Thanks guys!

Lol finally someone posted something. I’m no expert but I’d get it replaced / replace it myself.
Btw thanks for the info. I didn’t know that.
If youre not sure it has been replaced and you want to be sure just replace it, make sure the waterpump will be replaced too
Btw neither me nor other family members have owned straight 6 cars before. I listened to another IS200 engine video and it sounds 95% similar. Are these engines more rattly-sounding than a 4-pot?
The engine at idle may sound a little more rattly but when driving it should be silky smooth compared ti a 4 pot
