4 Reasons Why I Still Love Playing Live For Speed

Everyone is talking about NFS 2015, Assetto Corsa, Project Cars, Forza 6 etc. and I’m still playing LFS! Why? Well, here are 4 reasons why I still love this game!

The community

When I played LFS for the first time, I was struggling to find out how the game works. I didn’t know how to setup a car, how to drive properly, I didn’t even know how to start the engine. xD Thanks to some awesome people I learned the basics and they even taught me how to drift (I’m not a pro but ..K). The community is very friendly and they always help new players by giving them sets, teaching them how to drift etc. You can’t find friendly players in every racing game.

The mods you can install.

In Live For Speed, you can literally mod EVERYTHING! You can add window stickers, you can change rims, steering wheel, interior, seats, you can even mod the driver’s suit and helmet! This way you will give a personal touch to your car. But be careful, some mods don’t work online!

The difficulty.

LFS is freaking hard! You need days of training to become a decent driver. You’ll have to find the perfect setup for your car and practice again and again in order to become good. That’s a reason why I love it. In many racing games, you just spend 10 minutes to get used to the game and then you are a drift king who can do wheelies and backflips. AW HELL NAW!

The physics

For such an old game the physics are so realistic. For example, you can’t take a corner with 160km/h without crashing into something. You can warm up your tires in order to slide more etc. I’ve tried many other games but I think it has the best physics.

Alright those were 4 reasons why I still play LFS. I’ll be online for some time so come and drift with me! Server: Tofu Race Drift Server. (LFS Demo)

Seems it’s more a hobby for the developers because it’s been in development for over 10 years and it’s still in early stage. Seven years ago they were supposed to release new car and it still hasn’t arrived. Now they charge more for a S3 license..

I’ve just bought a G25 steering wheel and have just got the LFS demo, I can definitely agree with how hard it is!!! this being my first experience with a steering wheel (on a video game level) it takes a while to get used to!!

What’s your lfs username? (one you made an account with, not driver name)

I play LFS from time to time and I really love for the same reasons as listed above, even if I play the free demo with keyboard and mouse
