The Mitsubishi Outlander / Peugeot 4007
There was also a Citroen model
I’m not sure if this counts, but here in Greece the Seat Malaga was sold as the Seat Gredos, because Malaga is too close to ‘malaka’, which means assh*le in Greek
Hahahhah (Y)
Gredos kinda sounds like ‘grothos’, which is like ‘malaka’ but worse, or so I’m told.
Please. No one does badge engineering like us. Especially mid 80’s Chrysler and GM.
Chevrolet Celebrity= Pontiac 6000=Buick Century =Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera
Dodge Aries= Plymouth Reliant =Chrysler Lebaron = Dodge 600= Plymouth Caravelle =Chrysler New Yorker not to mention all of the other cars that were based on the K.
Chevy Vitara, mad from the already bad Suzuki Vitara
or here in america a its called a Tracker it was also a geo
In China, VW is famous for confusing names because different generations of cars are sold in the same time and there are TWO different divisions plus German imports, FAW VW and Shanghai VW.
US-Spec Jetta= ” Sagitar”
Actual Jetta is something completely different.
And there is also a “Bora” and “Lavida” which are like cousins to the US-Jetta
Euro Passat=”Magotan”
Actual Passat is US Spec.
A altered model of a 90s Passat was still on sale around 2011, called “Santana”, but now it’s an altered/cheapo version of a Passat.
And these are just some little examples… Not to mention rebadged Dodge Journey, Dodge Dart and Caravan…..
Toyota Cavalier and the Chevy Forester make me laugh a bit.
The Saab 9-2x too
Cadillac Catera a an Opel Omega in Europe
and between 1997 and 2006, it was also the Holden Commodore.
I think one example of a dodgy re-badge is the Nissan XFN, basically a re-badged Ford ute for the Australian market. Other notablee examples;

I could go on….
Sorry for the lack of commas between the examples, they were meant to have separate lines, but for some reason they came out as one sentence.
The entire chevorlet range as rebadged daewoos (UK and Ireland)
Yup…. Daewoo Matiz….
