Never understood why people would want to kill the boxer rumble.. Performance gain isn’t that big and makes the car sound like a honda imo.
Performance gains are that big. Sounding like a Honda isn’t a bad thing. Yes I still have my uneven length headers, but you know that I will still defend the logic of the others. Some people prefer the sound of Hondas, because they think that UELs sound like misfires.
I don’t agree, but I see their logic.
With Equal length headers you can have a twin scroll setup which will give you really good performance gains. It pretty much kills any turbo lag whatsoever so your car boosts and pulls instantly, but sound-wise I prefer the unequal rumble
And whats wrong with a Honda? Every college show off today buys a subi and straps a muffler onto it. That’s the new fad for this gen. Equal length headers are expensive, harder to fabricate, rarer to see and give more power. I’d rather have something that’s not a dime a dozen. Plus it sounds great on the ISF. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQnek6M7RhE

It sounds like a Honda with Unequal Length Headers.
so if i put unequal length headers on my honda, will it sound like a subaru?
Lol Gabz, coming to the dark side now, so soon after getting an S2000? :P
haha I like the s2k’s sound as it is, but i do think it’s cool
So to sum it up
Unequal length: more BRAAP BRAAP
Equal lenghth: less BRAAP BRAAP
My car makes so much more BRAAP with equal length headers.
Much much cleaner sound with equal length.
sounds more lively to my ear. not a massive difference, but still noticable
here’s one showing them both under load https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B6j94LkYo60
Subaru !!!
Unequal length FTW !
Here’s the word you’re all looking for: sonorous.
What a beautiful sound!
equal length just removes the boxer rumble, you might as well buy an inline 4
equal length and bigger pipe!
