I almost hit some reindeers with my parents Hyundai a couple of days ago. It was snowing and it was dark and I could just see something move on the road so I slammed on the brakes and stopped about 2&1/2 to 3 meters in front of 4 reindeers… bricks were shat

I’ve done that twice and nearly did the worse once. I tried to do a J turn and nearly hit a wall

Dat Incredible Chadkake

So the story is goes like this. I live in Eastern Washington state, USA. Consistently below freezing during the winter. I live on a hill. The roads had two inches of fresh snow and ice. The hill is pretty steep. I was going down it, braking, abs working overtime, I slid through an intersection, tried to turn left, understeered a lot, and hit the curb at 5 mph. I busted my right front rim, might have busted the ailgnment and it is unsafe to drive at highway speeds. The car I crashed is a 2001 Honda Oddyssey minivan.

Dude on a step icy hill, you shouldn’t be on your brakes, only engine braking, otherwise the wheels lock up. ABS on snow doesn’t work that well.
Anyway, it wouldn’t have really changed much for you, because what happened was understeer.

And it’s an ‘01 Odyssey, man.

First time - Got my license a few weeks earlier and was now enjoying the first snow of the year. Me and a friend each has our parents cars and we’re handbrake-drifting in every corner. My friend is in front of me and he spins so I crash into the left side of his front bumper.

Second time - 1 ½ years after the first crash, responsible driver. My car is getting repaired so borrowed my moms car to go visit a friend who was guarding a house out on the countryside.

Me and another friend decides to go home at the same time and since it’s in the middle of the night and dark as f**k we decide to take it slow.

He drives in front of me and after a corner with bad vision followed by a hill he brakes for a moose. So when I get over the hill I see his breaklights and starts to brake, but it took another second for me to realise that he was standing still.

So once again the brakes fail me and I plow into his rear. Since it was at the end of the hill, his car is standing flat while I’m still driving at an angle which made my bumper to go under his car and the hood, grill and headlights absorbing all the crash… So yeah, sorry mom!
