I’ve read that story before in a book Jeremy published years ago, originally written in a newspaper column on the subject of speed cameras or something. He didn’t mention any Porsche, but the article was a jab against people who see speeders as Satan incarnate. (Paraphrased, as best I can remember): “I received a call saying my father was on his deathbed. Had I done the speed limit all the way to the hospital, I’d never have made it, but because I went quite a bit faster I was able to see him before he died and say goodbye. Would you deny me that?”
Most emotional part of the trip. Also, on an unrelated note, nice B5 Florin!
I thought the same thing after seeing what happened to the Mustang that Hammond got.
The only thing I wonder is , how come Jeremy never brought up this touching story back when they did the Cheap Porsche Challenge a few seasons back ? … He invariability choose the same car on both occasions … Now the reason is clear #demfeels
That challenge was a CHEAP Porsche Challenge! 928’s aren’t cheap.
It’s because when his father was dying he was testing 928GT hence he bought 928GT for this special while for cheap Porsche challenge he bought devastated 928 S
