Unlike the other cars in this week’s In the Headlight’s promotion, the Motech Edition M140i doesn’t have any engine tuning, instead it’s all about the handling. Now the M140i isn’t exactly a badly handling car, the opposite in fact, but as ever production cars always have to be compromised in the way they ride, price of parts etc so Motech have decided to make the best M140i you can buy as a package. So they replace the springs, add a strut brace, add spacers and do a full geometry setup to turn the M140i into a proper b-road weapon.

Jaguar launched the F-Type in 2013 to critical acclaim, and when the Coupe was launched a year later the world fell in love all over again as somehow it was even more beautiful than the convertible. The sleek roofline tapering to that pert back end just worked so well that it was instantly regarded as one of the most beautiful cars on sale. As with the convertible there was a range of V6 and V8 engines, but Jaguar had to move with the times so with 2017’s facelift they made one of their most controversial moves yet – they gave the F-Type a 4-cylinder engine!

Alfa Romeo has turned the sports car market on its head. Until now you had overweight cars with ever-larger engines producing more and more power to overcome the weight. Well now Alfa have broken the mould, with the 4C coupe. Small and lithe, it has a carbon fibre chassis and body that helps it to weigh just 895kg – less than a Ford Ka. So with all that excess weight gone it can get away with a lightweight 1.8 litre turbo four cylinder engine in the middle – though still producing 237bhp. So you now have a small, incredibly gorgeous looking coupe that is nimble and fast.
