When a good friend of mine asked me if I could take care of a Giulia Veloce for a few hours- I happily obliged. After only four hours and about 200kms driven, this column might as well read as a memoir of an addict. I already had a chance to ride along in a Giulia Quadrifolgio Verde, and I loved that car; however, I was worried about long-term reliability, and it just didn’t make that much sense in the city, well thank you God for making the Veloce.

I think I wasn’t the only one scared of car manufacturers discounting enthusiast orientated models. Mitsubishi canceling the Evo or Dodge finishing the production of the crazy Viper, but after analyzing the cars debuted at the IAA 2017 in Frankfurt- I have good news. The future of cars is definitely in good hands and I’m damn excited for it!

The 1980’s and the 1990’s were probably the best times ever for hot hatch enthusiasts. With fantastic line-ups from manufacturers from all around Europe, you had almost unlimited choices regarding the “pocket rockets.” The Italians stunned the world with the immensely cool Lancia Delta, the British had the unsophisticated Ford Escort XR3, and the XR3i and the Germans launched the fantastic second generation of the Golf GTI. Manufacturers from Japan also wanted to get on the hot hatch trend and produced excellent vehicles of their own.

My story with the Giulia began back in September 2015. That year I got invited to go to IAA in Frankfurt, along with my dad and my friend who is also running his automotive blog (carburator.pl). The show was fantastic, the cars were shiny and beautiful, but nothing, nothing was as gorgeous as the newly unveiled Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio. Not only were we left speechless by the looks of the car, but also because we weren’t exactly sure how to correctly pronounce the name of the car without getting hot coffee poured all over us by an angry Italian.

A bit of an introduction I rarely look back in the past, my live revolves around enjoying the experiences that are happening in the present or ones that await me in the future. Yet thanks to Mark and Kai Faulkner’s, on the 18th of February I experienced something that I will forever look back to with a huge grin on my face.

Intro As I’m writing this article it is the 18th of November, it’s around 4PM and I’m sitting on my bed, thinking how on Earth will I review the Tesla Model S, I had a chance to drive just last weekend. Yesterday I had a great pleasure of attending Verva Street Racing- which is one of, if not the biggest automotive event in Poland.
