This review is going to be about not one, but rather two Suburbans currently in the shitbox fleet. They are from two different generations, and a lot had changed between them. So this review touches a bit on their differences, good and bad. One is a 1999 GMC Suburban, later called the GMC Yukon XL in 2000, and the other a 2004 Chevrolet Suburban. The 99 has been in the fleet for 3 years now, whereas the 04 has only been in the fleet for about 5 months now, since November of 2017. I’ll begin with the 99 suburban.

My pick for the #AcrossTheUSChallenge is the 2005 Ford Excursion and is a little unconventional, but in my opinion well suited for this. It’s big, bold, and makes Suburbans cry. Based off of the Super Duty F-Series truck, the one I’m opting for would be equipped with the 6.0 Liter Power Stroke Diesel V8. With diesel power and a large fuel tank, range between gas stations won’t be much of a problem. And with money being no object, the mods are pretty much limitless.

A diesel owners nightmare. Runaway diesel. It’s exactly how it sounds. A diesel engine that just wont stop. Causing many problems, such as damages, injury or worse. I hope this will help educate someone who is in the market for a diesel or currently has a diesel powered vehicle. This is most definitely not meant to discourage current or future diesel owners. My intention is to help those who may come across this rare, but possible occurrence.

The Bronco I’m reviewing in this article is my personal, daily driven vehicle. I’ve owned it for three years, and have driven approximately 27,000 miles. So this is a very long term reveiw. Enjoy, and thanks for readin’.

This is a snippet of Whispering Pines Hideaway here in Lyons, NY. It’s one of the very very few public off-roading places in NY that doesn’t involve just mud bogging. I prefer trail riding, not just a single mud hole to play in. Best part is, they’re open year round, so I hope next winter season to do some snow runs. They do charge to enter, but it’s worth it. I love this place.

This is my first (and current) car, known as MurPhy’z Law (spelled wrong on purpose.) Owned since early November, 2014. I daily this truck. She’s no trailer queen.
