Suggestions for a decent beater?

As much as I love my 67 Cougar I could really use a “better” car as a daily. I’m thinking I might save up all of my cash this summer and get a daily so that my Cougar can just be full time project car.

Since I probably won’t be making more than 3 or 4 thousand dollars over the course of a summer that’s the limit. Other than that, I’d prefer something fast and fun. Doesn’t necessarily need to be pretty or fuel efficient. Don’t much care how old it is so long as it’s fuel injected. It does have to be something I can get locally in the US. I know 4k isn’t really a lot to work with.

So, any ideas?

I think Bonnevilles are great dailys. Decent on gas and they have a 3800 Series II engine which runs forever and I can beat a mustang and camaro in a race.(V6’s of course) also they’re some Hondas you can get for the low and save gas and not break the bank.

Ah. A Pontiac. The Bonnevilles are pretty fairly priced too. Been looking at a lot of Hondas. Unfortunately, most of them are pretty beat up.
