What car completely changed your perceptions of something?
For me, it was the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 that changed my perception of American cars. I’ve always dismissed ‘Murican cars as, for me, life is more than just a straight line. Corners are where the fun is at.
For me, it was the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 that changed my perception of American cars. I’ve always dismissed ‘Murican cars as, for me, life is more than just a straight line. Corners are where the fun is at. But then the Z/28 came along and even the most biased European had to sit up and take notice. And it even looks stunning, too.
We want to know what car completely changed your opinion about something. Perhaps it was an electric car that converted you from ICE, a manual that made you realise sometimes auto is the answer, or perhaps a manufacturer you hated made something epic. Mx5. It’s nimble, it’s quick, and when properly built, it’s like a little fighter zipping through the traffic.
Jaguar F-Type R. Still the fastest and Best sounding car I have ever driven.
My ford ka. Hated it before I was given it now I can’t seem to find another car I likedriving as much especially for the €300 the cars worth. It’s not fast but still…
I bought a mustang simply bc the one i found was priced good and had allot of mods but at the time wanted an import. The first day i saw my mustang and drove it my mind was completly changed and i started to love everything about the car and how simple the car was im now on my second and this one feels like a completly different car but still feels like the car i feel in love with
two things,
I have and will always love old classics but at first I hated anything new until I worked at a Dodge dealership which changed my perspective because a dealership makes repairs look simple and easily done.
I will always love old fords but my dad bought a 72 Pontiac firebird and a 73 Volkswagen type 3 and when he let me drive, I finally realized that I don’t need speed to have fun.
I really don’t like new cars, but all it takes for me to make a new car into the perfect car for me is a manual trans, rip out the power steering, and turn off traction control
The gt86 that small is fun
The rs200 that small can be a beast
The Honda S2000, I thought that all hondas were mostly little eco cars (Which most of them are to be fair) with the occasional sport-ish model like the civics, while being great cars, small fwd’s don’t really interest me, but then I saw the S2000, which is actually one serious monster, with a 2.0L I4 making 247 hp, keep in mind, the engine was designed in 1995, and is NA, this engine out powers some turbo 4 cylinder engines coming out in the last couple of years, and when you start to read up on everything honda did to make the car as reactive as possible to driver input, like moving the battery as close to the centre as possible, same as the spare tyre, and almost everything else in the car, even the engine is behind the front axle. It’s a great car, and I would love to own one some day.
Grew up a huge EVO fan (really sad they don’t exist in my country), had to admit Subbies beat us at something, not gonna lie, I cried when they announced EVOs were no more. Still get few drops of tear every now and then when I think of it.
My A3 teached me it doesn’t take an absurd number of Horses, a ton of Turbo Pressure or AWD/RWD to have Fun: You just need to tame the Car, after that, its all set :)
Jeeps, and other small SUVs. Ever since I have started working as a general service tech, I have had the worst time doing an oil change on those cars (most because I’m small and I don’t have a far reach.) Maintaining car in general changed how I see cars. It mostly boils down to how hard can it be to work on them.
