What car completely changed your perceptions of something?

For me, it was the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 that changed my perception of American cars. I’ve always dismissed ‘Murican cars as, for me, life is more than just a straight line. Corners are where the fun is at.

For me, it was the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 that changed my perception of American cars. I’ve always dismissed ‘Murican cars as, for me, life is more than just a straight line. Corners are where the fun is at. But then the Z/28 came along and even the most biased European had to sit up and take notice. And it even looks stunning, too.

We want to know what car completely changed your opinion about something. Perhaps it was an electric car that converted you from ICE, a manual that made you realise sometimes auto is the answer, or perhaps a manufacturer you hated made something epic. Let us know in the comments and we’ll share the best!

For personal changes, it’d probably be my Mustang but because of RWD. I can’t really go back to FWD with out that want of being pushed from behind, I know it’s nonsensical since there are great AWD and FWD cars out there, but it’s just something that makes me want to keep going RWD.
Practicality and Want are two things that battle me all the time, but sadly the “I’m spending that much money, i’m getting what I want” effect comes into play all the damn time.

Ariel Atom, Palmer Jag, Radical SR3 - at 10 years old, it didn’t make sense to me how $50k kart could keep up with a $600k Porsche Carrera GT. The Atom is a car that calls you to scrutinize the mechanics and engineering of speed, and makes you realize how many alternatives there are to Lamborghinis, Ferraris and the like. These track special cars were the start of a wake-up call to me that made me realize that traditional supercars were, sometimes, definitely not always, embellished status symbols that borrowed the image of racing.

Equus Bass 770. Because it made me realize that making a new car that looks like an old classic is indeed possible! I absolutely love the design of it, both exterior and interior. It\s all a good and fresh mix of old and new. Instant favourite!

Hello to fellow CarThrottle fans <3. As a Bulgarian Citizen, I am subjected to primarily German cars in my surroundings and over glorification of them such as BMW,Mercs and Audis of course…. I wanted to stand out from the crowd as thats what people buy here for a first car on almost any basis. I came across a Cadillac and against all warnings I bought it, been in love with the damn thing since, before that I didnt wanna look at an American car. However, the modest CTS that I have has changed my perception so much that I have since become a car fanboy and have started reading and learning more about automotive engineering in my spare time. As a result I have come to deeply respect the automotive industry and especially american cars. My car isn’t entirely sporty but I never suspected that an american car would offer greater luxury than a German one. Moral of my story is, always go for what you like from the heart as an automobile, it won’t let you down if you care for it properly and will reward you with an unmistakably awesome feeling of satisfaction and thrills.

The Subaru Baja. It showed me that no matter how ugly a vehicle can be, it could also be a very durable and useful vehicle.
