20 Cars With The Most Extreme Aero
When some cars come out of the factory, they simply blend in with the background. Others, however, roll off the production line with big wings, insane aero and huge amounts of downforce. And that's exactly what this list is a celebration of...

What about miata huh, I thought miata was always the answer, have you been lying this whole time huh
?
While we are throwing race cars in there, what about the Chaparral 2J?
YES
No race cars. That toyota is a homologation special. But I really don’t think they should’ve added it. There are better examples of extreme aero on a homologated car. Take a loot at this Porsche GT1: http://www.supercars.net/carpics/1547/1998_Porsche_911GT198Straenversion2.jpg
And what about Praga R1R?👌

That thing kind of looks like a piece of lawn equipment at first glance
3000GT, really?
The wing is smaller that an ACR’s front-splitter.
The styling is very futuristic though…
They had active aero..
My thoughts too.
Yes, I believe it was the first Japanese car to feature active aerodynamics, FWS and computers and that too in 1996, it was way ahead of it’s time. Sadly, all these were crappy and the service cost was extremely high.
I think the escort spoiler was more for Essex boy racers than producing actual down force.
That spoiler is all WRC. Everything on it is performance oriented. Actual race not rice
It is one of the most effective wing/spoiler designs for hatchbacks.
Huayra/Huayra BC?
YES! Have my upvote.
This?
I think i’m kinda confuse with this list. It’s kinda mixed with road legal cars and track only cars.
Yeah, but that was not the intention of this list. It was only about cars that left the factory the way they are, road legal or not; so for example professionally modified vehicles like the Corvette C7.R don’t count.
Where’s the Veyron and LFA with their retractable spoilers?
The LFA’s retracting spoiler is the only notable thing on its aero design. Though I agree with the Veyron, it has lots of active cooling flaps all around the body.
